Max just recently came to us.  We are sooo overbooked right now with feline friends, but a young couple who just adopted two kittens from us called us trying to do the right thing.  They had found a kitty dumped at their apartment.  He was scared and hungry and very sociable, so since they live on a very busy street they took him into their tiny apartment's only bathroom.  They kept him there for a few days, looking for lost kitty signs and none were posted.  Since they didn't know if he was carrying anything, they kept their three kittens seperate from him.  They were overwhelmed and deeply saddened for this guy. 

When they called us, we could only offer a neuter and check-up, since our doors are overflowing, but we have been unable to find a foster family for him so we are hoping to find him a forever home soon.  He is a bit overwhelmed himself, from being dumped at an apartment complex, to being taken into a stranger's bathroom, to being whisked off to a vet for a snip-snip, then moved again to a facility with lots of strange kitties staring at him, all in a matter of one week.  We are still trying to socialize him because he is overwhelmed by our two-legged children, all the other cats, and our family Border Collie mix, but he is a love and quite comical!  He is still very much a kitten, though we guess him to be around one or so, and he part-times as a professional gymnist.  He has beautiful gold/copper eyes, can't get enough of the Red Laser Dot, and enjoys a good head scritch.  He is quite vocal and loves to boss you around, so if you don't mind a little conversation, he's the one for you!

Maine Coons are just awesome pets.  If you've never had one, they are incredible sidekicks.  The ones we have had enjoy watching tv with you while stretched out on the couch, love to play with anything in sight because they are always young at heart, follow you around and come when called.  These cats are not small and can really feel like a small toddler when being carried, but they do take to being carried on your hip like a toddler and love being babied.  Oh, and they are smart little critters too.
